Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park - Lakbay Norte de Northwestern Mindanao

The Province of Misamis Occidental in Northern Mindanao is blessed with tropical waters conducive for spawning crabs, shrimps and other sea creatures. This is also the home of Mindanao’s Dolphin Rescue Center at the man-made Dolphin Island located in the Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park.

The Aquamarine Park is located 30-40 minutes ride from the commercial center of Ozamiz in the town of Sinabacan. It has an entrance fee of P10 and once you get in you can see the different fish ponds for breeding sea creatures. The complex also holds a very disappointing mini zoo.

 One must tramp along the bamboo path passing through a lush mangrove forest. This zoo shows signs of poor maintenance, some cages are empty and small.

 Some cages doesnt allow animals to fly freely and are overcrowded like these kites above.

 Other animals here includes alligators, owls, turtles and lots of monkeys.
