Thailand never failed to amaze me even when it comes to cheap food finds. Bangkok street foods are plenty especially around the city’s shopping district, people from all races come to taste their local cooking and experiencing the best Thai cooking may not be on the fancy restaurants but maybe on the streets of Bangkok.

Thai and Filipino street foods have some similarities and differences. For example, in Bangkok since few are muslims, they serve barbeque pork, hotdogs and even chorizo (but Im not sure how they call it in Thai), they also have cold drinks available. The small difference is their marinade or sauce because Thai likes spicy dressing and sauces compared to Filipino which is sweet.

Perhaps one difference from our country is Thai’s prefer fresh quick cooking street foods like the picture above. On this stall they serve fresh vegetables which is cooked in a prepared stock. It was very hot that day in Bangkok but still many people order this soupy meal and can cost 20BAHT.

One of the best seller is this fried pork. This foodstuff is a bit sweet and costs only 5-10BAHT.

Familiar right? It looks like chorizo but they cook it differenty using their griller in a slanting position. I haven’t seen this way of grilling here in the Philippines. We could learn from Thai and make new trend here in our country.

So you see, you’ll never get hungry in Bangkok.  Lot of cheap foods to try out. From the looks of it, I bet its cleaner than ours and was cooked well.

One of the weirdest food I have tasted is this food above. I was very curious because lots of locals order this. This menu is composed of chicken meat, feet and liver cooked like our famous adobo. It is then mixed with bean sprouts and white noodles together with a hot soup. Finally, parsely was added to add green and extra flavor.

Viola! This was the food I ate during my lunch in Bangkok.

Bon Apetit! I love Thai cooking!

We can learn how Thai does it street food cooking and it turn they can learn from us too. Perhaps in the future, we can see Kwekwek in Bangkok streets. Who knows.

if there’s a game changer in street food domination contest between thai and filipino food, hahahaha, it really is the preparation. in thailand, its clean and the food served is always freshly cooked. and the price? it’s ridiculously cheap there! i never felt any safer than anywhere else eating street food by the gutter near khao san road in bangkok. *sigh* i miss pad thai and som tam :)
