Dont tell my mother I’m in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

Shhhh… Dont tell my mother I’m in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Dont Tell my Mother is my favorite travel show on National Geographic Channel. Why I love this show is because it tells something about me personally. For 3 years I have been secretly traveling around the Philippines and Asia without the knowledge of my mother. Why? Its because Im the only child and if I tell my mom I will go to places, I believe she wouldnt allow me and I wouldn’t want my mom to worry about me when I’m somewhere else.

Dont tell my mom ha, thanks!

How to get here:

Air Asia flies Daily from Clark (CRK) to Kota Kinabalu (BKI).

Cebu Pacific flies 3x a week from Manila (MNL) to Kota Kinabalu.

Malaysia Airlines flies from Manila and Cebu (CEB) to Kota Kinabalu.

Tips:

1. This summer, its always important to keep hydrated while traveling, dont buy bottled water from 7-11 instead buy water from groceries, you’ll see a price difference from RM0.5 to RM1.

2. Insist on using taxi meters. On my way back to Kota Kinabalu Airport in a taxi, I noticed the taxi driver covering his meter with a handtowel but then I told the driver to use the meter. From city center to airport cost no more than RM15.

3.If you want to feel the real Borneo experience, go for a hike to Mt. Kinabalu.
