Mt. Bongao, Tawi-tawi Conquered

Friday, December 17th, 2010

Truly, one must not fail to climb Mt. Bongao when travelling in Tawi-tawi because the view from the top is just so magnificent. This ads to my lists of mountains climb - Mt. Apo and Mt. Pinatubo.

The view from the top shows a vast lush of green fields and beautiful beaches of the island province. It shows that the province is gifted with natural charms and wonders still left undiscovered and unexploited by people and tourists.

One thing I dislike about the peak is the telecommunications tower which is an eyesore because it disrupts the natural beauty of the mountain. When I was at the peak, I looked at my cellphone and I can get a signal from a Malaysian telecom- DIGI.

I was  so blessed that my foster family accompanied me  the mountain.

We trekked down at 9am and had a quick snack in a local store. We rode a tricycle back to our home in Bongao and rested for awhile for our next trip later that afternoon.
