It was a dream come true for me to visit Cambodia for the first time, little is so heard about this small kingdom nation aside from temples— that what I think.

I arrived in Phom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. To my surpirse, I thought that Cambodia has a poor airport but I was amazed that Phom Penh International Airport is beautiful although its not that big as Ninoy Aquino Airport. Heading towards the exit, I was welcomed by tour and taxi operators. Since, it was my first time, I called for a taxi. A man told me after to ride in the taxi but I was confused, there was no taxi. I thought to myself, maybe the person doesnt know english so I kept on waiting. All along, I realized that the man was referring to a motor cycle like vehicle or commonly known there as TUKTUKs ( a local tricycle in the Philippines). I was really expecting awheeled vehicle like a normal taxi.

The driver took me around Phnom Penh town and I asked the driver if there’s a bus to Siem Reap where the famous Angkor Wat is located. He brought me to a local bus stop that leaves PP to Siem Reap at 6:00pm. It was a huge bus from Paramount Tours. It has a comfort room inside, so this bus is intended for longhaul trips. The trip runs about 6hours  and I arrived in Siem Reap at 12 midnight. The local tuktuk driver from PP arranged my pickup in Siem Reap. The whole trip costs US$20. We had short stop over in a local town half way to Siem Reap for dinner.

TIP: Always bring bottled water.

I was asleep through out the whole trip and the bus was freezing cold. Arrived in Siem Reap finally at 12midnight.

TIP: It is better I think if you had your money converted to US Dollars while still in the Philippines. Cambodia uses US dollars more than Cambodian Riels. The exchange rate is so low in Cambodia.
