Im lost and now Im found.
Since January, I have been travelling, spending most of my money on credit card bills for my trips here and abroad. Actually, the main reason for my trip is that I was LOST, I lost my vision, my purpose in life, my connection and the only way to find that out was through travelling, I felt I can find answers in other places, in another island however I couldn’t find some answers because I dont know also what I am looking for. I am looking for the directions but there are lots of arrows in my path, I’m like a sheep thats lost in the herd.
During my trips around the Philippines, I have seen alot of people, met with some locals and minger with them. I discovered alot of people are suffering from the northernmost part of Luzon, the Visayas and down to Zamboanga peninsula. Many people are depressed with poverty and striken by hunger and there I am having the luxury of travels, sightseeing but beyond that what I saw was a reality.
But now, I have finally found my answer. Imagine, its not very far from my apartment but just within my area where I usually pass and thats the Buhangin Community Church through the ENCOUNTER that really strucked me so much and during the Youth Reload events. I can truly say now that I WAS LOST BUT NOW FOUND.
Right outside Cagsawa Ruins park, a small botique shop is selling Wear Your Pride tshirts Bicol edition and the price, P200. I bought one for myself as a souvenier.
There are lots of designs to choose from. Which shirt is suitable for me? Aside from shirts, they also sell native handmade bags which comes a bit pricey.
And the final verdict, I chose the I love Bicol in small caps because it is just right for my body. Getting heavier these days.
Awakened by the jeepney sirens from my humble room accommodation at Rizal St. The rain was on and off and Mt Mayon was no where in sight. Out of depression, I took my breakfast eat-all-you-can at Quick N hearty restaurant just along Rizal St fronting the 24hour Jollibee store. The foods are very limited, there were omelette, chicken adobo, chorizo, dried fish, arrozcaldo and some canned tropical fruits individually placed in a shot glass.
Now with full of energy, I went to Cagsawa Ruins, no rain is gonna stop me now.
It could have been more beautiful and picturesque if only Mt Mayon is in the backdrop. But anyhow, I enjoyed my picture taking at the ruins. When I got there, the rain did not stop, all I could do is wait and shop around the boutiques and taste some pili nut delicacies.
I learned that Cagsawa was an old church, it was destroyed due to the volcano eruption. It must be very strong. Right now, the alert level of Mt Mayon is at Level 2. I think at this level, no one is allowed to go near the foothills.
Some people are also for hire usinh your cam to take special effects with the ruins. I really had fun time doing this. The shots are amazing.
Onboard Cebu Pacific’s flight to Legaspi, I could see below from my window how strong the waves are. The news must be right that a low pressure area has been forming near northern Philippine sea that would bring scattered rain showers and would mean disaster in my iterenaries in Legaspi.
Legaspi City is an hour trip from Cebu, it is popularly known as home of the Philippines’ bet to the New 7 Wonders, Mt Mayon. Unfortunately, my trip was a failure, I did not see Mt Mayon even its foothills, the bunch of thick Columbus clouds covered the whole mountain. This would certainly mean that I’ll be back in Legaspi anytime soon.
Legaspi is the center commerce in Bicol. It is a bustling city with still lots of potential for growth and development. It also the regions top tourist destination. Moving around Legaspi is easy, there are lots of jeeps and tricycles mostly serves the inner baranggays and a number operates around the city at night. Before the drizzle becomes full blown storm, I had a quick walking tour around the city.
Just near the city hall is St Gregory church. A beautiful landmark in the city.

What a better way to start August is to visit Mt Mayon at Legaspi City, Albay. Mt Mayon is one of the countries most beautiful landmark, being the only mountain with almost perefect cone shape and was voted as one of the natural wonders of modern world. Tomorrow, I’ll be flying via Cebu Pacific connecting from Cebu City.
Just watching Mt Mayon pics over the net makes me so thrilled.
