After my trip to Bohol, I felt very dizzy and feverish so I decided to take an overnight stay at Cebu and hopefully catch a bus to Dumaguete via Liloan, Santander southern part of Cebu. I usually stay at Pension houses near Mango or along Cebu Doctors. However, out of curiosity I chose Sugbutel instead.
Sugbutel is a budget friendly hotel located near SM City Cebu and North Reclamation area. Its a different kind of hotel that I have been to.They dont have private rooms instead the accommodation is like in the economy class in a ship or more likely a hospital, its like a ward with lots patients.
Each room has more than 80 double decker beds and 2 huge airconditioners. Its advisable to rent those lines because it really get very cold. This was inspired from Japan’s capsule hotel.
Sugbutel also has 24/7 camera’s for added security but the best thing was the staff’s are very friendly, they treat you as first class. At this costs, you dont expect that guards open the doors for you when you come in, greet you a pleasant day, guide you to your rooms and they always give a smile and a warm welcome. What a great service!
Sugbutel provides clean and affordable accommodation at P250/night/person. They charge additional P50 for linens, towel and blanket. If you value privacy, ask the receptionist for a lower bed because they have curtains. The toilet and shower are common but dont worry, I was very shocked to see how clean their toilets are. They clean it every now and then, the tiles are very shiny.
CAMWHORING INSIDE MY SPACE
There’s one thing that you cant do it here or difficult to do. Naughty.
nice! am going to remember this when i find myself back in cebu someday.
@nomadic - thats the usual problem. you can hear snores and some guests are noisy.
@SL - experience it.
SUGBUTEL just launched their Early Christmas Promo - ONLY P199/person/day!!! UNBEATABLE RATE FOR A 5 STAR HOSTEL ACCOMODATION!!!
They just opened their First Class accomodation as well - smaller rooms good for 2 to 8 persons capacity..
Posted by Altisoy at September 13, 2009, 11:10 pmI think it’s 99 pesos only. I’ve seen in their website. That’s nice to hear about Sugbutel’s accommodation.

Sugbutel looks well kept, not common these days in shared accomodations. I like the name as well - so quaintly Cebuano. Hope nobody there snores loudly enough to dislodge an impacted cerumen.
