Bohol is also rich and culture and tradition. It is the place where the Blood Compact or the signing of a peace and trade agreement during Spanish colonial times also known as the Sandugo. This event is remembered through a shrine located in Tagbilaran during the first stopover of our Bohol countryside tour. The place is also overlooking the sea of Bohol.
The ceremony was very unhygienic because they have to drink each others blood with wine from the bleeding vessels in their arms, fortunately there was no hepatitis or other blood-borne diseases yet. Lol.
The next pitstop of our tour was the Baclayon Church located few minutes away from Sandugo Shrine. Bohol has also lots of old churches but this one below is one of the best.
Actually, the following stops are the Tarsiers and the Chocolate Hills but I have already made a posts about it. You can just scroll down to view it or click the links. I also love the countryside of Bohol, its like a real-life farm town game on facebook. You can see rice fields, banana and coconut trees and animals freely moving in the farmlands.
Moving on, the tour also includes the visit to the Hanging Bridge. When we got there, the bamboo bridge was very slippery because of the rain.
The next trip was at the Man Made Forest. The place is like the setting of the latest movie that people have been crazy about, Twilight. Its okay to take pictures in the middle of the street, the driver told us that the cars will just stop.
Lucky when we got there, the rain already stopped. The place could have been better if it was sunny.
Finally, its lunchtime. The most waited part is the river cruise with buffet lunch. I thought we were gonna stop for the Loboc River Cruise but instead we were taken to Rio Verde which is also offers cruise and tribal ati show.
The main dish on the buffet was fish fillet, crabs, lobsters and fried chicken. Other dishes are jackfruit salad, banana heart salad, some fruits; mango with bagoong, watermelon as well as rice cakes. It also includes 1 bottle of 8oz pepsi. The taste was a bit salty, I was hoping to get another round of drink but unfortunately I have to pay extra P30 to have one. No water was served, you have to buy again bottled water. Overall, the food was fair, nothing mouthwatering really for a P350 buffet.
The boat didn’t start to cruise along the river until the singer on the other boat came. The singer was fun, he is really good. His songs are perfect for cruising, just relax and enjoy the scenery feel.
Finally the Tribal ati show.
Time to leave Tagbilaran na. Wow I had so much fun in Bohol. Definetely I will be back to try diving.
