Bus Terminals

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

The Ecoland Bus Terminal is a buzzling terminal and a starting point to most of people going back to their provinces. It is open 24/7 and it could take you to far places in Mindanao like General Santos to the south or Butuan, Cagayan de Oro or Surigao to the nort and did you know that you can go to Manila by bus. Yes, Philtranco Buses ply Davao-Manila route everyday using RORO or Roll On, Roll Off. Whew, that could be a very ass tiring ride although some say that it is lot of fun because you gonna see lots of places and enjoy sceneries. I don’t know about that but someday I will try it.

The longest bus ride I remember is during my trip to Cagayan de Oro via Kabakan, North Cotabato last 2000. It was a 12 hour trip because the roads then were still undergoing construction but now the travel time is cut by half thanks to the concrete roads. The latest was enduring a 6 hour trip to Boracay from Iloilo via Capiz. Now, bus travel has become more comfortable, reliable and safe.

Among the bus companies that serves this terminal are:

Bachelor Bus - Butuan, Surigao, Ormoc

Metro Shuttle - Tagum, Panabo, Monkayo, Digos

Yellow Bus - General Santos, Koronadal, Digos

Holiday - General Santos, Koronadal, Digos

Weena - Kidapawan, North Cotabato, Cotabato city

LCI - North Bound
