Airline spotting at NAIA T2

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Ever since I was a child, I always wanted to fly. I love to draw airplanes on my notebook. books and any piece of paper. Even until now, if I am stressed or doing nothing, I just draw airplanes and my stress will be relieved at least temporarily. So, when I was at NAIA Terminal 2 last week, I had so much fun doing airline spotting with my camera and I’m very lucky to see an airline thats very rare in our airport, its India’s largest private carrier, JET AIRWAYS using B777.

I was wondering what Jet Airways is doing in Manila. Could it be a test flight for rumored Manila-Mumbai route or is it having a check at Lufthansa Hangar but I saw this airline approaching towards Terminal 1. There was a news before that Philippine Airlines is studying a possible expansion in India.

I also noticed that many airlines are deploying larger aircrafts more often like Cathay Pacific which I saw 2 B747’s. Other airlines I saw are Thai Airways, EVA Air, Singapore Airlines, JALways, Qantas etc. More luck was when I saw my favorite airline livery and design, Air Tahiti Nui at Lufthansa hangar undergoing maintenance check. Too bad, I don’t have its picture.
