May and June Trips

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Its final.

Photobucket

I will be going to Manila this May 7, 8 and 9. I planned to visit Corregidor Island in Bataan and explore the Old charms of Manila like the Binondo, Intramuros and Rizal Park. The first time I’ve been to our capital was when I was 4 years old and we stayed at Manila Hotel. I hope I will have more time to visit around Tagaytay. I have the 1st flight of Philippine Airlines from Davao to Manila.

On May 30 to June 3, I will be back again in Iloilo and Guimaras. The last time I was in Iloilo last November, I failed to visit Miagao church because I had terrible diarrhea from my Boracay trip. I will also go in Bacolod for the first time. See you all, hope to bump one of you.

And finally, on June 30 to July 3, I’ll be in Cebu, Bohol and Dumaguete.

Website Overload

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

This was the result of Philippine Airlines Real Deal promo, unfortunately I wasnt able to book also. Most of the problem was during the payment page where you place your credit card information.

Photobucket

The website wasnt able to handle such number of users simultaneously accessing the site. My friend reported that PALs office here in Davao was jumpacked with prospective passengers wanted to avail of the promo but also experienced unsuccesful bookings. My friend was holding ticket number 300+ out of 600+ flight frenzy costumers.

Photobucket

Right now, PAL’s website is still having some problems, I was supposed to book my domestic flight for next month from Manila to Davao. According to some forums, PALs website is not used to this so much web traffic compared to Cebu Pacifics online reservations.

Reunions

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Photobucket

Last week, the Medicine staff of Davao  Medical Center had their summer outing at Forest Hills Resort, Davao. It was also a time for the old staff to reunite however, sad to say that 2 of my closest colleagues will be leaving us to work abroad. Laura, on the left wearing yellow will be going to Perth, Australia while Jackie, the girl behind wearing black is set to fly to Singapore early next month. The picture above is the strong force behind the Medicine Ward, we had a lot of fun together despite the toxic work we had. We will surely miss them both.

Spirit of Manila

Monday, April 20th, 2009

While some countries felt a drop of air travellers due to recession, the Philippine skies gets more buzz this year because there will be a new airline that will soon be flying. Spirit of Manila Airlines is the newest lowcost airline in the country that is set to fly from Clark to Macau and Taipei and soon to the Middle East. SOMA is set to provide its passengers with free meals and transportation to/from Manila unlike the other budget airlines.

Now, there’s more reason to fly.

My Most Envied Travel blogs

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Blogs have been my major source of information everytime I go for a trip and I’ve been lurking them for quite some time now and I cant help to feel envious because of their magnificent trips here and abroad. How I wish that I could travel as much as they do. Here’s the list of my Most Envied Travel Blogs.

5. Sexy Nomad

Photobucket

I’ve been lurking her site for more than 3 years already since I started blogging. I envy her travel so much, she has been all over the country and Southeast Asia. She has a very honest review on the places she’s been to, not just the place actually but on the local scenes and food trips.  I also love her beach pictures, she’s sexy but sorry guys she’s already taken. She’s not just a traveller but also a bookworm.

  2. Biyahilo

Photobucket

The author behind this blog is Kuya Eric. Everytime I visit his blog, I can help to say Wow Philippines because he showed how beautiful our country is. What differentiates his blog from others is that he is present in every major festivals all over the country from sinulog, kadayawan, ati atihan etc which is one thing I love the most, Fiesta. Street dancing, street foods and showcase of different cultures, isnt that cool? This guy has no limits, no mountains, beaches and cities that he can’t go to. Gawd, I envy him so much. How I wish that Im a jetsetter like him. His food trips also are one of the best. I cant wait where does his food will take him next.

3. Backpacking Philippines

Photobucket

I always wanted to do backpacking because it simply is more fun and cheap than conventional travel like staying in a 2 or 3 star hotels. You dont need to spend much when you travel, meeting some backpackers along the way are cool also. You can learn about them and makes friends. But now, I’m transformed into solo backpacking because some of my friends don’t have enough time to travel. But now Im happy doing solo backpacking because you are in control of your time wherever your foot will take you. Backpacking Philippines site is my one stop shop for backpacking information from terminal fees, airline promo’s , ATM locations and suggested iterenaries. This site also shows that you should be proud as Filipino because we have a very beautiful tourist destinations. Now everyone can travel at low cost. You dont need travel agencies because you can google on destinations you want to visit.
