My Town, My Kidapawan

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Kidapawan is the capital of North Cotabato, more popularly known as the City of Fruits and Highland Springs. It is blessed with rich agricultural lands and wonderful people. It is located in the foothills of Mount Apo, the Philippines tallest peak. A lot of things has changed in Kidapawan over decades, new roads and structures are being constructed.

Here’s the glimpse of Kidapawan now. Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Although Kidapawan has been hit by several bombing in the last 2 years, it has been steadily recovering from that nightmare. Now, Kidapawan has several 24hour establishments like coffeeshops, convenient stores and tertiary hospital that caters its citizens needs.

Cancelled Trip to Bohol

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Last month, Zest Airways (formerly known as Asian Spirit) emailed me telling that their Davao-Cebu flight is cancelled due to management reasons. I booked their Seat sale deal last December hoping to get a really cheap flight and to try this nPhotobucketew airline which I paid for just P988 round trip using their new turboprop plabes.

This was supposed to be my gateway to the beautiful island of Bohol. So, perhaps another time this year. Tomorrow, I will go go back to my hometown and rediscover Kidapawan City, Fruit capital of the Philippines!

Road to Vigan

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Yesterday, I went to the city of Vigan just south of Laoag City. Coincidentally, they also celebrated their Kannawidan Festival, it showcases the different cultures, sights and products of Ilocos Sur. When we talk ahbout Vigan, two things immediately came out in my mind, thats Chavit and UN World heritage site. They say its a place no other in the Philippines because its only here where Asian and European architecture are found. Before heading out, I took again photo with their monkey stuff today which is cute for me. Haha. Look we were so close together. Surely I will miss this cuddly monkey when I go back in Davao. This bus below is my ride to Vigan, its a non-air conditioned coach. One way fare was P100. I wished I didn’t choose this one because it was scorching hot yesterday. You can take Parbas Bus next time. Photobucket
