Boracay is worth the wait

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

After 6-7 hours of long journey,  we are now here in the beautiful island of Boracay. This was our first time her an the long trip was worth the wait because all our efforts and stresses during the travel was gone as we stepped on the white sandy world class beach of boracay.

Photobucket At 9:30AM, we left Iloilo via Ceres Bus and it took us around the countryside of Panay Island. The trip was about P350/person on an airconditioned coach. We had a short stop at a local restaurant for a quick lunch, it was called Jungle restaurant. There was a traffic though along Passi where some road construction are going on. It caused us a few hours of delay. The scenery around the island was splendid. It showed how simple are the people living in the rural areas as if they are already satisfied with their lives. We also had a short stop over Kalibo where the fanous Ati-atihan festival is being held here. It was scorching hot and perfect for the beach feeling we all had. Finally around 3PM, we arrived at Caticlan, the gateway to Boracay. More pictures soon..

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

I’m gonna be very busy this week as I start my Central Visayas tour which include Iloilo, Guimaras (which Im writing this from), Boracay and if time permits to Bacolod and Kalibo. I arrived from Davao earlier on time and again my ticket was absolutely free of charge not even Php1 courtesy of Cebu Pacific. This promo have taken me to Zamboanga, Cebu and Iloilo. All I paid was the terminal fee and next month, I have a pending trip to Manila for free.

Get ready for an adventure!

Cebu Ko Bai

Monday, November 24th, 2008

I had again another quick tour in Cebu City last November 20 to 21. I stayed at Pacific Pensione which is conveniently located near Fuente circle by Taxi and its a cheap accommodation for backpackers. The hotel is new and costs P650 single room. During my visit, I also got the chance to participate at IDP Australia Global education forum at the Cebu City Sports Club near Ayala Mall. But my trip was never complete without visiting Lapu Lapu Shrine.

New Hospital

No, I am not transferring to another hospital. I just had my practicum in Nursing as part of the requirements for my Masters of Arts in Nursing at Philippinw Womens Universituy at a local primary hospital in our province. It is situated at Antipas, North Cotabato and its called Arakan Valley District Hospital.

It is a 25 bed capacity hospital but caters upto 50 patients each day. I had so much fun in my practicum since I knew how other nurses care for their patients. It was a very simple hospital with only basic equipments and facilities but I can see that nurses here are very qualified and competent. I’d like to thank the Chief Nurse of the hospital for accommodating me during my practicum. It was a pleasure to meet her in person and also to Shiela who helped me convince her to allow to me do my research at the hospital.
