Its already 1 week and still we don’t have salary.
Traditionally, our pay is always delayed for about 2-4 working days but this time, its already 5 days. It’s not very unusual that its always delayed again its already a tradition, hahah but you know I really need money this time, my wallet is almost empty. I planned to have a massage and facial tonight but unfortunately the DBP ATM is offline. A bank-manager friend of ours told me that "OFFLINE" ATM machines are usually due to less or no cash to dispense than techinical problems. So, there must be something going on with the hospitals budget. I don’t know if private hospitals experience the same thing.
So, the whole day, I was stucked at the DMC Virtual Library and out of boredom of waiting for the salary, I finally formulated a title for my graduate thesis in Nursing.
Just taking a break at the DMC Virtual Library. This is my favorite place in the hospital because its clean and it has internet connection even Wifi. The aircon is also in full blast always so no more oily and yagit-looking nurse. During shift, I wan’t to go home to take a bath but its not allowed to leave my post. I hope that someway the nurses station will have showers for the staff. Hahah. In USA, do they have it kaya?
I really need to go abroad, di talaga mag yaman ang nurse dito sa Pilipinas, actually our rate is just P451.77 per day for 22 days so we get about P9000 a month excluding taxes. So, its really just enough for my needs like food. I’m a heavy eater this time because of work. Ive lost 2 kg since I started working as a staff. Now, Im at 81 kg.
When I go on work at Medicine Main at DMC, it felt like I’m going to the gym because of the heavy work load, there are so many charts to carry-out, sometimes we get up to 56 patients and we are just 2 nurse and 1 nursing aide. There are also many questions and from the watchers that should be entertained. At Medicine ward, we have 16 IMCU beds or patients with close monitoring and some of them have terminal diseases.
The action comes when the patient goes under cardiac arrest and we have to do CPR until the doctor comes and reassess the patient or pronounce the patients dealth. The CPR can burn to you a hundred calories and all that running to borrow equipments from other wards burns you even more calories. Sometimes, we only have little time to take a seat and relax. Even during lunch time, still there are many patients and watchers need that we have to attend to.
There was a time that sometimes there are 2-4 patients undergoing cardiac arrest at the same time or almost few intervals from the other. Thats why, trainees and students are a big help because we just have to delegate some task to them with our supervision. For trainees, mostly they do the medications while the students the vital signs taking and the basic ward works.
At Medicine main, we are on 12 hours shift that means we have schedule like from 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM and 10AM-10PM. My favorite shift is 7PM to 7AM because at night, I can relax since there are no procedures, only few doctors order to carry-out just admissions from the Emergency department.
I watched MY BIG LOVE earlier at Gaisano Mall on Last Full show sched. I love the movie so much coz its not so dramatic but more on light-comedy-romance filrm. Nakakakilig, nakakarelate and nakakatuwa. It shows that Love can happen in all shapes and sizes. Just like between me and my bebe, I used to be fat like Sam or Macky in the film pero my bebe still loves me despite my size. Hahah. I miss my bebe so much watching the film. If you read this be, I hope you will be back na here in Davao and if ever your in my arms again, this time I love you much better and if ever if your ever in my arms in my arms again, this time I hold you forever, this time will never end.
Miss ko na mahal ko, nasa Dubai kasi sya ngayon.
