Lets play rubgy

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

The first time I saw a rugby match was in Australia 3 years ago and I became an instant fan of the game. Rugby is the most popular game in Australia and huge stadiums are built just for the game. They comprise of 2 teams with 15 players each. However, I’m not quite sure on how exactly it is played but the action of the game is on the highest level. The players rumble on each other, run back and forth to the field. Well, it seems to be like a violent game but it was very fun to watch.

The Aussies are just so crazy about this game. Infact, the 30,000 seater arena in Brisbane  is full with rubgy enthusiast. The sound of cheers is just so awesome as if a B747 landed. When I went back to the Philippines, I bought some rugby stuff as a souvenier. Now, I have learned of a new website about rugby where rugby fanatics update their selves with the latest news, events in this exciting sport. They can even know the teams standings from the gamel The 6 nation rubgy cup has online rugby games   where fans can have interactive gaming from anywhere in the world.

First Day High

How did you celebrate the New Year? While most of you are in the  comfort of your home, with your family and feasting on the medja noche. I celebrated my New Year at the hospital. Yesterday, January 1 was the first day of my work as a paid staff nurse at Davao Medical Center. Away from my family, I slept early as 10PM last New Years eve.

Photobucket It was a very busy or toxic day at the Medicine ward at DMC. I was the Charge Nurse for the very first time and as a charge nurse, you are responsible for the whole ward and you have to attend to the watchers and patients demands. About 9AM, the adventure starts when one patient is on cardiac arrest. Luckily, I have Sir Joel, RN my senior nurse  and Sir Ryan, nursing aide are with me to help me out. It was my first time to assist for intubation.

Its not easy to be a nurse coz its the life that we are dealing with. Not for long, before midday hits, another patient had cardiac arrest. As an SOP, we have to  perform basic life support or CPR and give drugs like epinephrine or atropine sulfate to keep the heart beating. Patient wasn't revived and the doctor proclaimed the patient dead.
