Working Student

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Today was my first day and only class in my Masters Degree in Nursing at Philippine Womens College (PWC) Davao. Yes, this was our first meeting and our last meeting in this entire 1st semester. The program of PWC for Masters of Arts in Nursing (MAN) is modular and internet-based that means that we don’t have actual live lecture just like a typical classroom setting, instead we are given modules of all our subjects this semester and we answer the questions in the module as our assignment and pass them on the specific deadline.

Earlier, we were already given our FINAL Examination for the 1st semester. Isn’t that amazing? Another great thing about enrolling at PWC is that they are in a trimester setting, in other words, in one year we have 3 semesters and that means that transition is fast and approximately I will complete my Masters in just 1 year and a half. Compared to San Pedro college, that could take you for 2 to 3 years and you really have to attend the live classes every saturday or sunday. At PWC, I control my time and its great for my shifting schedules while working as a staff Nurse at Davao Medical Center, in other words, I’m a working student.
