Year Ender Special

2007 has been a very great year for me. I have accomplished many things and my plans have materialized. 

These are the events that shocked me alot. 

* I passed the Philippine Nurses Licensure Exam last January 2007

* I passed the IELTS Exam last April 2007

* I successfully completed my Training program at Davao Medical  Center from May to September 2007.

* I passed my NCLEX-RN exam last November 2007. 

* I finally got a job at Davao Medical Center - Medicine ward this Month of December.

I thank the Almighty for all his blessing showered to me and my family.

Health and Environment

Health and environment are always interrelated. In fact, according to Florence Nightingale, the founder of Nursing profession told us about environmental theory which states that "Nursing is an act of utilizing the environment to assist patient in recovery". In other words, external factors have a great impact on the persons health. We need fresh air, clean water, adequate nutrition, sanitation, cleanliness and light for us to function well throughout life. 

However, due to the destruction of the environment. We are now faced with more health problems including emerging diseases like SARS as well as global climate change. Thats why we need a solution now to this problem. One answer could be Environmental Data Solution Group (EDSG), they are the leader in integrating information technology innovations to optimize Environement, Health and Safety (EHS) performance.

One of the major contributors of pollution are large companies such as airlines. Emissions from their engine destroys the ozone layer. I got the JOB!

This is the merriest Christmas! 2 weeks ago, I received a text from Mam Ompoy, the assistant chief nurse of Davao Medical Center (DMC) informing me that I will have a work interview. I was elated by the news that finally I will be able to work at DMC after waiting for almost 3 months. I'm now HIRED by DMC as a contractual nurse! Hurray!

Yesderday, I had a didactic orientation with Mam Comoda, the chief nurse of DMC with Mam Ompoy. We were 12 nurses and about 11 nursing aides. We will start working on January 1, 2008. My assigned ward is at MEDICINE-MAIN, this is said to be the most toxic ward in the hospital because there are simultaneous patients going on arrest. During the interview, Mam Comoda read my resume especially on the Basic Life support seminar which I also became as a guest speaker one time. This must be the reason why I am assigned at MEDICINE-MAIN because of my talents in life saving.

I'm so nervous right now coz I don't know what to expect at the ward and this time Im not a trainee anymore but a staff nurse who must use their decision making skills. So, this is a challenge for me. Whew!

Today is my BIRTHDAY!

Today is my 23rd Birthday!!!

Dream destination: Ireland

One of my dream destinations is Ireland. I'm always fascinated by their picturesque sceneries, castles, laid back atmosphere and the leprechauns. During college, I have a friend named Michelle and her family is from Ireland, she invited me to go there. She said I don't have to worry about the accommodation coz they have a huge house there. All I need to do is to prepare myself pocket money and my airfare. However, we need visa to go there but she said her mom will sponsor my stay for faster visa processing but unfortunately the plan didn't push through because of some unexpected events.

Dublin is the capital of Ireland. There are lots of attractions in Dublin including the magnificent Dublin castle that takes us back into Medieval times. There are also cheap accommodation in the city. Dublin hotels  come for as low as 75 Euro a night. Traveling in groups can even avail of the bigger discount. Touring other parts of Ireland is not a problem because of easy transportation on land and on the air. Other popular destinations are Cardiff, New Castle and Leeds.
