Yesterday, I joined the 1st Mindanao Bloggers Summit, it was held at NCCC Mall Davao at 9AM. I was kinda late because I was really confused to go to the summit or to attend another seminar about anesthesia at Brokenshire College scheduled on the same day. But then, after careful analysis of the situation I decided to scrap the event at Brok and join the Mindanao Bloggers summit because I love to blog. Not that I don't like nursing but this event happens only once a year and nursing seminars are on a regular schedule.
Fortunately, I was able to catch Peter Lavina as the keynote speaker during the event. I think that every councilor or official should have a blog as well so that we'll know more about their programs or plans coz somehow they are like celebrities in the political arena. Well, I hope to see some Kidapawan councilors do it as well.
What I was so amazed about was Bob Martin, a foreigner who loves Mindanao so much and he creates blog about it. I was so jealous that he had a chance to tour the wonderful island of Mindanao like the far flung province of Tawi-Tawi. Come to think of it, its seems that this place is so scary but based on the pictures he present, I never thought how majestic the place was. So there is really more to discover in Mindanao than those negative news coming from the island.
Certainly, blogging can make a lot of difference in Mindanao especially the bad images it is getting from international media. Bloggers can show to the world the colors of Mindanao.
Few more speakers came to talk about monetizing blog which Ive tried before from my previous blog however it didn't gave huge value because of the less traffic I generated.
The most interesting part of the summit maybe the Fellowship Night which was held at the Cafe Havana at Rizal St where we had a free dinner courtesy of Blogie and more food and food. I had the chance to mingle with fellow Mindanao bloggers all the way from South Cotabato, Saranggani and from the Davao locale. Finally, I saw the faces behind those very beautiful and well made blogs.
Overall, I had so much fun during the summit, met new friends and learned how blog can make a difference in Mindanao. Can't wait for the next summit or perhaps the next bloggers activities like probably a christmas party? Hahah. Oops, I'd like to congratulate the events organizers, the sponsor and the participants for making it a successful event.
ahhhh…. nice naman….
