Amigoas!

Its not your average internet cafe.

While walking along Duterte St., I saw an attractive devilish logo in bright red. Puzzled what it was, its an internet cafe but different one. They have a really nice ambiance and atmosphere, the units are all in flat screen and it smells good too at a very affordable cost!!

Amigoas reminds me of my trip in Cebu. Whats the relation? Amigoas sounds like very Cebuano, although I really dont know what it means but its similar to Amigo or a friend. Enough of this gibberish. Hahah. But the main story is really my survival in the queen city of the South — Cebu.

I bought my plane ticket last July when Air Philippines had their crazy Otso-otso fare or P88 one way excluding the taxes, all in, it cost me around P1065 or just about P2100 round trip. Everyone knows I love to travel. So, I started to safe money from my weekly allowance for my Cebu escapade. Its a sacrifice for me coz I started to abhor on my favorite things to do however it certainly paid alot. I also started a research on the best deals regarding accommodation and transportation.

Last Sunday, September 9 just 2 days after the completion of my training, I flew to Cebu on a tight budget, my mom didnt gave me an extra allowance so I really have to rely on my research, prior I have viewed the whole Cebu map through wikimapia.org, one of my favorite website. Everyone thinks that from Mactan airport, you have to ride a taxi towards Cebu city proper that could cost you bucks, however, I asked some locals and they instructed me on how to ride a jeep from the airport to Cebu.

Transportation is easy in Cebu. At the airport, theres only 1 jeep thats allowed, its the yellow Jeep where it took me to Marina mall terminal at P6. From Marina mall, I rode again a jeep to SM City Cebu, it costs me P14, its so cheap. We traveled across the popular Manduae bridge and just about 20 minutes. I'm thrilled how titanic SM Cebu is, its so huge more like 5x bigger than SM Davao. I took my lunch at SM foodcourt and again I was shocked by the beautiful ambiance they have. Its so wide and spacious.

Next, from SM, I rode a jeep to Ayala Mall. It cost only P6. You will never get lost, you just have to look at the sign at the jeep to tell you where its going. While we were moving, I saw the huge skyscrapers around Cebu, its so beautiful I love the architecture. The most beautiful I think was the Waterfront Hotel, it looks like a castle or a palace. Finally I arrived at Ayala Center Cebu, its equally or even more collosal than SM Cebu.

From Ayala, I went to my accommodation near the provincial capitol of Cebu. What a magnificent structure, its like a mini-white house mansion. The streets in Cebu are quite clean and wide. The jeepneys are also huge and I didnt see any multi cabs for passenger use.

Following days, I had to enjoy the sights and sounds of this wonderful city including the world famous Magellans cross , Sto. Nino Church and Fort Santiago  The city truly never sleeps and the neon lights along the Fuente circle is spectacular. Indeed, Cebu is a one stop destination for people who wants to experience a fusion of diverse culture and modern amenities.
