Sunburn and Stool exam

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Aside from the learnings and skills I acquired from the Red Cross seminar, I also developed sunburn for the second time around and skin darkening. Hahaha. The first time this year was when I went to Paradise Island resort during pre-holy week. However, I still have no regrets I joined because the experience is priceless and I gained new friends.

Last Monday, after learning that I passed the qualifying examination at Davao Medical Center (DMC), I immediately complied the given requirements. Finally, I will really work. I was dismayed at Davao Doctors Hospital and Brokenshire Hospital since they did not call me back after I posted my resume.  I have heard that there is a palakasan system in the 2 hospitals I mentioned. DMC would be a better alternative.

The following day, I had a tough time at DMC. I was amazed with the voluminous patient they cater everyday. I arrived at the hospital early in the morning and the cashier lane is now packed with lots of people seeking quality health care. Luckily, I found out that I will have my laboratory done at the DMC-IC or Industrial Clinic. However, there are still hundreds of people at the clinic mostly students for mandatory drug testing for Psychiatric Nursing exposure.

I expected that I won't finish my laboratory on that day because of the volume of people jump packed. As expected, the results will be released two days after. I was quite nervous coz I felt that there was something in my urine sample, it was quite orangy in colour. It was quite unusual for me or perhaps its due to the 1L of C2 iced tea I drank prior to the test.

Later this morning, my most dreaded laboratory specimen is the stool exam. I really hate this exam, its so yucky although it came from me. I boweled this morning and with the use of the stick, I scrape the formed stool to my specimen bottle. Eeeww!! I hate this, it was very challenging how you put a speck of stool in the specimen bottle without messing it up. Eewww…

Tomorrow, my results will get be released. Hopefully, its all Normal.
